Special provision about minors and adults with impaired capacity
47 Special provision about minors and adults with impaired capacity
(1) This section applies to a notice, agreement, acknowledgement or another
document to be signed by a protected witness who is a minor or a person with
impaired capacity.
(2) A document to be signed by a minor may be signed by a
parent or guardian of the minor.
(3) A document to be signed by an adult with
impaired capacity may be signed by— (a) a person who may exercise powers in
relation to personal matters for the adult under a power of attorney under the
Powers of Attorney Act 1998 ; or
(b) a guardian of the adult under the
Guardianship and Administration Act 2000 .
