To remove any doubt, it is declared that a child who is serving a period of detention at a place may be released from detention under this subdivision whether or not the child is at the place at the time of release.
Example—A child is serving a period of detention at a detention centre. The chief executive grants the child leave of absence under section 269 . While the child is on the leave of absence, the chief executive may make a supervised release order releasing the child from detention.
