Queensland Consolidated Acts Queensland Consolidated ActsA person who is lawfully detained under this Act must not—
(a) escape from detention; or
(b) attempt to escape from detention; or
(c) be absent from a detention centre without lawful authority; or
(d) escape or attempt to escape from the custody of a police officer or an officer of the department into which the person was placed under this Act.
Penalty—Maximum penalty (subject to part 7 )—40 penalty units or 1 year’s imprisonment.
