Prohibition of publication of identifying information about a child
301 Prohibition of publication of identifying information about a child
(1) A person must not publish identifying information about a child.
Penalty— Maximum penalty (subject to part 7 )— (a) for an
individual—100 penalty units or 2 years imprisonment; or
(b) for a
corporation—1,000 penalty units.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to—
(a) publication in a way permitted by a court order; or
(b) publication under
written authority given under subsection (3) .
(3) The chief executive may
give written authority to a person to publish identifying information about a
child if the chief executive is satisfied the publication is necessary to
ensure a person’s safety.
