A coal mine must have a standard operating procedure for the following—
(a) controlling access to, and working in, confined spaces at the mine;
(b) minimising the risk to persons from carrying out manual handling tasks;
(c) protecting persons from the following at the mine—(i) abrasive blasting and high pressure, chemical and mechanical cleaning;(ii) cutting and welding, including using cutting and welding equipment in a confined, wet or dusty location;(iii) laser emissions and other sources of harmful electromagnetic radiation, including solar radiation.
