EXPLOSIVES REGULATION 2017 - REG 154
Notice of proposed blasting
154 Notice of proposed blasting
(1) The holder of a shotfirer licence must give an inspector notice under
subsection (2) of a proposed blasting, other than a blasting at a mine or an
explosives factory. Penalty— Maximum penalty—50 penalty units.
(2)
The notice— (a) must be given at least 7 days before the proposed blasting
is carried out; and
(b) must include the following— (i) the holder’s name
and licence number;
(ii) the location of the proposed blasting, including the
approximate distance to any protected works, within the meaning of AS 2187,
part 0, within 1km of the location; Examples of protected works— houses,
buildings, roads, railway tracks
(iii) the day or days on which the
proposed blasting will be carried out;
(iv) a copy of any written authority
for the blasting issued by the local government in whose local government area
the proposed blasting will be carried out.
