Public risk insurance
167 Public risk insurance
(1) The fireworks contractor for a fireworks display must maintain public risk
insurance providing coverage, of at least $5,000,000, for amounts the
fireworks contractor becomes liable to pay as a result of the display for—
(a) compensation for death or bodily injury; or
(b) damage to property.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—50 penalty units.
(2) However, the
fireworks contractor need not comply with subsection (1) if the display host
for the fireworks display maintains public risk insurance that— (a) provides
coverage for amounts the display host becomes liable to pay as a result of the
fireworks display; and
(b) otherwise complies with subsection (1) .
