Electrical installation not to be connected to electricity source if work not tested
218 Electrical installation not to be connected to electricity source if work
not tested
(1) A person must not connect an electrical installation on which
electrical work has been performed to a source of electricity unless— (a)
the person who performed the electrical work was authorised under the Act to
perform it; and
(b) the electrical installation, to the extent it is affected
by the electrical work, has been tested to ensure it is electrically safe and
complies with the requirements of the wiring rules and any other standard
applying under this regulation to the electrical installation.
Penalty—
Maximum penalty—40 penalty units.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to
the connection of the electrical installation to a source of electricity for
the first time.
