(1) The holder of a harvesting licence, or a relevant person for the holder, who takes an authorised animal by killing the animal must keep the carcass of the animal in a way that ensures the animal can be easily identified.
(2) Subsection (1) does not prevent the holder or relevant person from removing an approved tag or any other thing used to identify the animal—(a) immediately before the holder tans the skin of the animal; or(b) immediately before the holder prepares the meat of the animal for consumption.
