Queensland Consolidated Regulations Queensland Consolidated RegulationsA person who keeps a live protected animal under the Act , other than under an animal authority, must, unless the person has a reasonable excuse—
(a) keep the animal in a secure cage or enclosure that prevents the animal’s escape and protects it from predators; and
(b) supply the animal with shelter, ventilation and enough water and food to maintain the animal’s health and wellbeing.
Penalty—Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
