85A Alternative qualifications for applications for particular new licence class

(1) Subsection (2) applies in relation to an application for a licence of the class mentioned in schedule 2, part 31, section 1(4) if—

(a) the application is made on or after the commencement but before 1 November 2021; and

(b) the applicant does not have the technical qualifications required under part 3, division 2 for a licence of the class; and

(c) the applicant is the holder of an electrical mechanic licence; and

(d) the applicant has, for at least 6 months, carried out work that is the installation and maintenance of the inputs, outputs and controls associated with fire detection systems or emergency warning and intercom systems; and

(e) the application is accompanied by evidence of the matters mentioned in paragraph (d).

(2) For deciding the application, the applicant is taken to have the technical qualifications required under part 3, division 2 for a licence of the class.
