226 Notification requirements for person granted exemption from paying
particular fees
(1) This section applies to a person who is granted an exemption from paying
any of the following fees under section 225 — (a) a registration fee for a
vehicle or dealer plate;
(b) a registration administration fee for— (i)
conditional registration of a vehicle; or
(ii) a category 2 vehicle, other
than a trailer;
(c) a traffic improvement fee for a category 1 vehicle, other
than a trailer.
(2) If a circumstance relating to whether the person is
eligible for the exemption under section 222 (2) or 224 changes, the person
must— (a) give the chief executive written notice of the change; and Note—

communications.
(b) ensure the notice is given to the chief executive
within 14 days after the change, unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
(3) If the exemption is
for a registration fee for a vehicle and the person sells or otherwise
transfers the vehicle, the person must— (a) give the chief executive written
notice of the sale or transfer; and Note— See part 9 , division 3 for
requirements for particular customer communications.
(b) ensure the notice
is given to the chief executive within 14 days after the sale or transfer,
unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Penalty— Maximum
penalty—20 penalty units.
