(1) A registration holder must notify the regulator as soon as practicable if the registration document is lost, stolen or destroyed.Penalty—Maximum penalty—(a) for an individual—12 1 / 2 penalty units; or(b) for a body corporate—60 penalty units.
(2) If a registration document is lost, stolen or destroyed, the registration holder may apply to the regulator for a replacement document.Note—A registration holder is required to keep a registration document available for inspection, see section 275 .
(3) An application for a replacement registration document must include a declaration describing the circumstances in which the original document was lost, stolen or destroyed.
(4) The regulator may issue a replacement registration document if satisfied that the original document was lost, stolen or destroyed.
(5) If the regulator refuses to issue a replacement licence document, it must give the registration holder written notice of this decision, including the reasons for the decision within 14 days of making the decision.Note—A refusal to issue a replacement registration document is a reviewable decision, see section 676 .
