(1) This section applies if a safety sign is required to control an identified risk in relation to using, handling, generating or storing hazardous chemicals at a workplace.
(2) A person conducting a business or undertaking at the workplace must display a safety sign at the workplace to—(a) warn of a particular hazard associated with the hazardous chemicals; or(b) state the responsibilities of a particular person in relation to the hazardous chemicals.Penalty—Maximum penalty—60 penalty units.
(3) The person must ensure that the safety sign is—(a) located next to the hazard; and(b) clearly visible to a person approaching the hazard.
(4) In this section—
"safety sign" does not include a placard.
