149 Amendment of s 290 (Entitlement to certificate, information or source document relating to particular entries)

(1) Section 290 , heading, ‘certificate,’—
omit.

(2) Section 290 (2) , ‘a certificate,’—
omit.

(3) Section 290 (4) —
omit, insert —

(4) The person may make an application, accompanied by an authorisation from the chief executive under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2023 , section 110 for information or a copy of a source document to which the authorisation relates.

(4) Section 290 (7) —
omit, insert—

(7) Information given under subsection (6), or given under this section and relating to a closed entry, may be given by the registrar in the form the registrar considers appropriate.
