Amendment of s 68 (Child protection register)
31 Amendment of s 68 (Child protection register)
(1) Section 68 (2) —
insert— (ea) whether the reportable offender is an offender who has been
convicted of a device inspection offence; Note— See the
Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 , section 21B for the power of a
police officer to require a reportable offender who has been convicted of a
device inspection offence to produce or otherwise make available for
inspection each digital device in the reportable offender’s possession.
(2) Section 68 (2) (ea) to (g) —
renumber as section 68 (2) (f) to (h) .
(3) Section 68 —
insert— (4) If information that a reportable offender is an offender who has
been convicted of a device inspection offence is placed on the register, the
police commissioner must give the offender a written notice that states that
fact as soon as practicable after the information is placed on the register.
