EDUCATION (QUEENSLAND COLLEGE OF TEACHERS) ACT 2005 No. 47 - SECT 154

154 Offences about attending hearing, answering questions and related matters

(1) A person given an attendance notice must not fail, without reasonable excuse--

(a) to attend as required by the attendance notice; or
(b) to continue to attend as required by the committee until excused from further attendance.

Maximum penalty--60 penalty units.

(2) At the hearing, a person appearing as a witness must not--

(a) fail to take an oath or make an affirmation when required by the committee; or
(b) fail, without reasonable excuse, to answer a question the person is required by a committee member to answer; or
(c) fail, without reasonable excuse, to produce a thing the person is required by an attendance notice to produce.

Maximum penalty--60 penalty units.

(3) It is a reasonable excuse for a witness to fail to answer a question or produce a thing that answering the question or producing the thing might tend to incriminate the witness.
