(1) The chief executive (the appointer) may, by instrument in writing, appoint a person as a health service investigator to undertake an investigation under this part in the department or a network.
(2) A network chief executive (also the appointer) may, by instrument in writing, appoint a person as a health service investigator to undertake an investigation under this part in the network.
(3) However, a person may be appointed as a health service investigator only if the appointer is satisfied the person is qualified for appointment because the person has the necessary expertise or experience.
