HUMAN RIGHTS ACT 2019 - SECT 100
Anonymity
100 Anonymity
(1) If, any time while the commissioner is dealing with a human rights
complaint, the commissioner considers that the preservation of anonymity of a
person who is, or has been, involved in the complaint is necessary to protect
the work security, privacy or any human right of the person, the commissioner
may give a direction prohibiting the disclosure of information that
identifies, or is likely to lead to the identification of, the person.
(2) A
person must comply with a direction unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Penalty— Maximum penalty— (a) in the case of an individual—35
penalty units; or
(b) in the case of a corporation—170 penalty units.
(3) In this section, a reference to involvement in a complaint includes— (a)
making a complaint under this Act and continuing with the complaint; and
(b)
being a respondent to a complaint; and
(c) giving information to a person who
is performing a function under this Act.
