(1) This section applies if a regulatory authority decides under section 69 to refuse to grant or renew a local practising certificate or to cancel a local practising certificate.
(2) The authority may also decide that the applicant or certificate holder is not entitled to apply for the grant of a local practising certificate for a stated period of not more than 5 years.
(3) If the authority makes a decision under subsection (2), the authority must include the decision in the information notice required under section 69(3)(a) and the applicant or certificate holder may also appeal to the Supreme Court against the decision within 28 days after the day the information notice is given to the applicant or certificate holder.
(4) Subject to a successful appeal against a decision under this section, the Legal Profession Act 2004, section 65, or under a corresponding law, a person against whom the decision has been made is not entitled to apply for the grant of a local practising certificate during the period stated in the decision.
