14 Amendment of s 24 (Powers of police officer if referral is unsuccessful or
if child contravenes conference agreement)
(1) Section 24, heading, ‘conference’—
omit, insert—
restorative justice
(2) Section 24(1)—
omit, insert— (1) This section applies if a police officer refers an offence
committed by a child to the chief executive for a restorative justice process
and— (a) the chief executive returns the referral to the officer under
section 32(1); or
(b) the child fails to comply with a restorative justice
agreement made as a consequence of the referral.
(3) Section 24(2)(b) and
(c)—
omit, insert— (b) any participation by the child in the restorative justice
process; and
(c) if a restorative justice agreement was made as a consequence
of the referral—anything done by the child under the agreement.
(4)
Section 24(3)(c), ‘conference’—
omit, insert—
restorative justice process
