TRANSPORT OPERATIONS (MARINE SAFETY) REGULATION 2016 - REG 80

80 Particular ships must use light while underway

(1) This section applies to a ship that is more than 20m, is capable of a speed of more than 20kn and only operates in smooth waters, other than—

(a) a fishing ship; or

(b) a recreational ship.

(2) The owner and master must ensure that—

(a) the ship is equipped with a flashing yellow all-round light; and

(b) the light is used while the ship is underway.

Penalty—

Maximum penalty—200 penalty units.
