The Parliament of South Australia enacts as
follows:
This Act may be cited as the Advertising for Publicly Funded Employees
Bill 2012.
This Act will come into operation 1 month after the day on which it is
assented to by the Governor.
3—Disclosure
of remuneration in advertisements for publicly funded
employees
(1) An advertisement
seeking applications for employment as—
(a) a public sector employee within the meaning of the Public
Sector Act 2009; or
(b) an employee of a council under the Local
Government Act 1999; or
(c) an employee whose remuneration will be partly or wholly funded by the
State government or by a council under the Local
Government Act 1999,
must disclose the remuneration or a remuneration range for the
employment.
(2) If an advertisement is published in contravention of
subsection (1), the
employer is guilty of an offence.
Maximum penalty: $5 000.
Expiation fee: $315.
