The Parliament of
This Act may be cited as the Oaths (Judicial Officers)
Amendment Act 2004.
In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the
amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.
Part 2—Amendment of Oaths Act 1936
3—Amendment of section 7—Oaths to be taken by judicial officers
Section 7(1)(a)
to (g)—delete paragraphs (a) to (g) and substitute:
(a) the Chief Justice, puisne judges and Masters of the Supreme
Court; and
(b) the Chief Judge, other Judges and Masters of the District
Court; and
(c) magistrates; and
(d) justices of the peace,
4—Amendment of section 28—Commissioners for taking affidavits
(1) Section 28(1)(b)—delete
paragraph (b) and substitute:
(b) all Judges and Masters of the District Court; and
(2) Section 28(1)(c)—delete "special"
