The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

This Act may be cited as the Prince Alfred College Incorporation (Constitution of Council) Amendment Act 2007.

2—Commencement

(1) Subject to subsection (2), this Act will come into operation on the day on which it is assented to by the Governor.

(2) Section 5(1) and (3) will be taken to have come into operation on 24 September 2006.

3—Amendment provisions

In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.

Part 2—Amendment of Prince Alfred College Incorporation Act 1878

4—Amendment of section 3—Interpretation

Section 3, definition of Synod—delete the definition and substitute:

Synod means The Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of South Australia, or the Standing Committee of that Synod.

5—Amendment of section 17—Constitution

(1) Section 17(1)—delete "Subject to subsection (2) of this section the" and substitute:

(2) Section 17(1)—delete "The Constitution shall subject to this Act be as set out in Part 2 of the Schedule hereto."

(3) Section 17(2) and (3)—delete subsections (2) and (3)

Schedule 1—Amendment of Constitution

1—Amendment of Constitution

The amended Constitution of The Prince Alfred College Council, as approved by resolution of the Council of the College on 24 September 2006, will be taken to come into force and effect on the day on which this Act is assented to by the Governor.
