The Parliament of South Australia enacts
as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Shop Trading Hours (Christmas
Trading Period) Amendment Act 2004.
In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the
amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.
Part 2—Amendment of Shop Trading Hours Act 1977
3—Amendment of section 13—Hours during which shops may be open
Section 13—after
subsection (7) insert:
(7a) If
26 December falls on a Sunday in any year, the shopkeeper of a shop in the
Central Shopping District or the Glenelg Tourist Precinct may open the shop on
28 December from 11.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. (but nothing in this subsection
affects an entitlement to open a shop on that day under subsection (5e)).

or on a prescribed public holiday

(4) Section 13A(4)—after
the definition of collateral agreement insert:
prescribed public holiday means a public holiday on which a shopkeeper is entitled to open a shop under section 13(7) or (7a);
