South Australian Current Acts South Australian Current Acts88—Placement of scientific observer on registered boat
(1) The Minister must
give the holder of a fishery authority written notice of the Minister's
intention to place a scientific observer on a registered boat used under the
fishery authority.
(2) The notice must
specify a period (commencing not earlier than the date specified in the
notice) during which the registered boat must not be used under the
fishery authority except while a scientific observer is aboard the boat.
(3) A registered boat
to which the notice relates must not, during the period specified in the
notice, be used under a fishery authority unless a scientific observer is
aboard the boat at all times while it is being so used.
(4) If
subsection (3) is contravened, the registered owner of the boat and the
registered master of the boat are each guilty of an offence.
Maximum penalty: $20 000.
