An issuing authority must endeavour to ensure that the defendant and
protected persons understand—
(a) the
terms and effect of an intervention order and any associated order, including,
in the case of an interim intervention order, that the order acts as a
summons; and
(b) if
relevant, the effect of section 16; and
(c) that
a protected person cannot give permission for contravention of an order,
(but failure to do so will not make an order invalid).
