41—Treatment and care plans for patients to whom
inpatient treatment orders apply
(1) The treatment and
care of a patient to whom a level 2 or level 3 inpatient treatment order
applies must, as far as practicable, be governed by a treatment and care plan
directed towards the patient's recovery.
(2) The treatment and
care plan—
(a) must
describe the treatment and care that will be provided to the patient as an
inpatient in the approved treatment centre and should describe any
rehabilitation services and other significant services that will be provided
or available to the patient as an inpatient in the treatment centre or
following the person's discharge from the centre; and
(b)
must, as far as practicable, be prepared and revised in consultation
with—
(i)
the patient and any guardian, medical agent, relative,
carer or friend of the patient who is providing support to the patient under
this Act; and
(ii)
any service provider or agency that is providing
treatment, care or support to the patient; and
(c) must
comply with the requirements of the regulations as to the making or contents
of such plans.
