85B—Notice of termination by tenant due to condition of premises
(1) The tenant under a
residential tenancy agreement may, by notice of termination given to the
landlord, terminate the tenancy—
(a) if
the premises do not comply with the prescribed minimum housing standards under
the Housing Improvement Act 2016 ; or
(b) if
the premises are destroyed totally or to such an extent as to be rendered
unsafe; or
(c) in
prescribed circumstances.
(2) The minimum period
of notice under this section is 7 days.
