117—Registrar may exercise jurisdiction under this Division
(1) Subject to rules
of court or the regulations, the powers of a court under sections 115 and
116 are exercisable by—
(a) if
the person in relation to whom the powers are to be exercised is a
youth—the Registrar of the Youth Court;
(b) in
any other case—a Registrar of the Magistrates Court.
(2) Subject to rules
of court or the regulations, a person who is aggrieved by a decision or order
of a Registrar made under subsection (1) may apply in accordance with
rules of court to the court for a review of the decision or order.
(3) The court may, on
completion of the review—
(a)
confirm the decision or order;
(b)
quash the decision or order and substitute any decision or order that could
have been made in the first instance;
(c) make
any ancillary order (including an order as to costs) the court thinks fit.
