A review agency for an investigating agency—
(a) may,
at any time, and must, at least once in each period of 6 months, inspect
the records of the agency for the purpose of ascertaining the extent of
compliance with this Act; and
(b)
must, not later than 2 months after completion of each such inspection,
report in writing to the Minister on the results of the inspection.
Note—
Under section 55 of the Surveillance Devices Act 2004 of the
Commonwealth, the Commonwealth Ombudsman is required to inspect the records of
the ACC to determine the extent of the ACC's compliance with this Act. Under
section 61 of that Act, the Commonwealth Ombudsman is required to report
the results of the inspection to the Commonwealth Minister, lay the report
before the Commonwealth Parliament and send a copy of the report to the
Minister administering this Act.
