53—Design, construction, installation, maintenance and modification
(1) The safety case
for a facility must describe the means by which the operator will ensure the
adequacy of the design, construction, installation, maintenance or
modification of the facility, for the relevant stage or stages in the life of
the facility for which the safety case has been submitted.
(2) In particular, the
design, construction, installation, maintenance and modification of the
facility must provide for—
(a)
adequate means of inventory isolation and pressure relief in the event of an
emergency; and
(b)
adequate means of gaining access for servicing and maintenance of the facility
and machinery and other equipment on board the facility; and
(c)
adequate means of maintaining the structural integrity of a facility; and
(d)
implementation of the technical and other control measures identified as a
result of the formal safety assessment.
