If a taxi-meter fitted to a taxi is not registering correctly or is out of
order or the seal affixed to the taxi-meter is broken, the relevant person for
the taxi must ensure—
(a) that
an authorised officer is immediately notified; and
(b) that
the taxi is not used to ply for hire until the taxi-meter has been
re-adjusted, tested by an authorised officer or person approved by the
Minister and found to be in proper working order and registering correctly.
Maximum penalty: $750.
Expiation fee: $105.
