(1) A Minister, agency
or instrumentality of the Crown that has the care, control or management of
land in the country must take reasonable steps to protect property on the land
from fire and to prevent or inhibit the outbreak of fire on the land, or the
spread of fire through the land.
(2) A Minister, agency
or instrumentality of the Crown must, in acting under subsection (1),
take into account proper land management principles.
(3) A Minister, agency
or instrumentality of the Crown to which subsection (1) applies must
appoint an appropriate person to be responsible to ensure compliance with
subsection (1).
