(1) The Minister
should, so far as is reasonably practicable, consult with any other
public authority that may also have power to act with respect to the
particular matter before the Minister issues a protection order, reparation
order or reparation authorisation under this Division.
(2)
Subsection (1) does not apply—
(a) if
action is being taken under this Act as a matter of urgency; or
(b) in
any other circumstance of a prescribed kind.
(3) A person cannot
claim compensation from—
(a) the
Minister or the Crown; or
(b) a
fisheries officer; or
(c) a
person acting under the authority of the Minister or a fisheries officer,
in respect of a requirement imposed under this Division or on account of any
act or omission undertaken or made in the exercise (or purported exercise) of
a power under this Division.
