4—Amendment of section 3—Interpretation
(1) Section 3(1),
definition of "dentist"—delete the definition and substitute:
"dentist" means a person who is registered as a dental practitioner under the
law of this State;
(2) Section 3(1),
definition of "health professional —delete the definition and
substitute:
"health professional" means a person who is authorised under the law of this
State to practise any of the following professions:
(a)
chiropractic or osteopathy;
(b)
nursing;
(c)
occupational therapy;
(d)
optometry;
(e)
pharmacy;
(f)
physiotherapy;
(g)
podiatry;
(h)
psychology;
(3) Section 3(1),
definition of "medical practitioner —delete the definition and
substitute:
"medical practitioner" means a person who is registered as a medical
practitioner under the law of this State;
(4) Section 3(1),
definition of "relative", (c)—delete paragraph (c) and substitute:
(c)
someone (not being a guardian appointed under this Act) who—
(i)
if the person is under 18 years of age—acts in loco
parentis in relation to the person; or
(ii)
in any other case—is charged with overseeing the
ongoing day-to-day supervision, care and well-being of the person;
