39—Ability to provide a range of services and facilities
(1) An
incorporated hospital may establish, maintain and operate—
(a)
sites that provide a variety of health services;
(b)
health and community care services for all or specific sections of the
community, including residential services for the aged and other vulnerable
groups, or for persons who must interact with the public health system;
(c)
other forms of service or facilities (including services and facilities that
benefit (directly or indirectly) staff, patients or visitors, and services and
residential facilities for the aged and other forms of accommodation).
(2) The Minister may
establish guidelines about the services or facilities that may be provided
under subsection (1)(c) (and may, in so doing, provide that the
Minister's approval is required before a service or facility of a specified
kind is established at a hospital).
