33—Identification of authorised officers
(1) A person appointed
by the Minister as an authorised officer under this Act must be issued with an
identity card—
(a)
containing the person's name and a photograph of the person; and
(b)
stating that the person is an authorised officer under this Act; and
(c)
stating any limitations on the authorised officer's powers.
(2) If the powers of
an authorised officer appointed by the Minister have been limited, the
identity card issued to the authorised officer must contain a statement of
those limitations.
(3) An
authorised officer (other than a police officer in uniform) must, at the
request of another person in relation to whom the authorised officer intends
to exercise powers under this Part, produce for the other person's
inspection—
(a) if
the officer was appointed by the Minister—the identity card issued to
the officer under this section; or
(b) if
the officer is an authorised officer because the person holds an office under
another Act—the identity card issued to the officer under that Act.
(4) If a person in
possession of an identity card issued to the person under this section ceases
to be an authorised officer, the person must immediately return the identity
card to the Minister.
