PODIATRY PRACTICE ACT 2005 (NO 9 OF 2005) - SECT 6

6—Composition of Board

        (1)         The Board consists of 9 members appointed by the Governor of whom—

            (a)         5 must be podiatrists and of these—

                  (i)         4 will be chosen at an election (see section 7); and

                  (ii)         1 will be selected from a panel of 3 podiatrists nominated by the Council of the University of South Australia; and

            (b)         4 must be persons nominated by the Minister and of these—

                  (i)         1 must be a legal practitioner; and

                  (ii)         1 must be a registered member of a health profession other than that of podiatry; and

                  (iii)         2 must be persons who are not eligible for appointment under a preceding provision of this subsection.

        (2)         At least 1 of the members of the Board must be a woman and 1 must be a man.

        (3)         The Governor may appoint a person to be a deputy of a member and a person so appointed may act as a member of the Board in the absence of the member.

        (4)         The requirements of qualification and nomination (if applicable) made by this section in relation to the appointment of a member extend to the appointment of a deputy of that member.
