STATUTES AMENDMENT (SERIOUS AND ORGANISED CRIME) ACT 2012 (NO 12 OF 2012) - SECT 37

37—Amendment of section 251—Abuse of public office

        (1)         Section 251(1), penalty provision—delete the penalty provision and substitute:

Maximum penalty:

            (a)         for a basic offence—imprisonment for 7 years;

            (b)         for an aggravated offence—imprisonment for 10 years.

        (2)         Section 251(2), penalty provision—delete the penalty provision and substitute:

Maximum penalty:

            (a)         for a basic offence—imprisonment for 7 years;

            (b)         for an aggravated offence—imprisonment for 10 years.
