10—Amendment of section 54—Register of conveyancers
Section 54—after subsection (2) insert:
(2a) If any of the
following events occur in relation to a person who is registered as a
conveyancer, or is a director of a company that is registered as a
conveyancer, the Commissioner may record a note of the event on the register:
(a) the
person is convicted of an offence of dishonesty;
(b) the
person is suspended or disqualified from practising or carrying on an
occupation, trade or business under a law of this State, the Commonwealth,
another State or a Territory of the Commonwealth;
(c) the
person becomes an insolvent under administration within the meaning of the
Corporations Act 2001 of the Commonwealth;
(d) a
body corporate is wound up for the benefit of creditors and the person was a
director of the body corporate—
(i)
when the body corporate was being so wound up; or
(ii)
within the period of 6 months preceding the commencement
of the winding up;
(e) the
person, being a company, is being wound up or is under official management or
in receivership.
