STATUTES AMENDMENT (DOMESTIC PARTNERS) ACT 2006 (NO 43 OF 2006) - SECT 145

145—Amendment of section 5—Interpretation

        (1)         Section 5(1)—after the definition of "document" insert:

"domestic partner" means a person who is a domestic partner within the meaning of the Family Relationships Act 1975 , whether declared as such under that Act or not;

        (2)         Section 5(1)—after the definition of "solicitor" insert:

"spouse"—a person is the spouse of another if they are legally married;

        (3)         Section 5(5)(f)—delete "or putative spouse (within the meaning of the Family Relationships Act 1975 )" and substitute:

or domestic partner

        (4)         Section 5(5)(f)—delete "or putative spouse" second occurring and substitute:

or domestic partner
