Administrative Arrangements (Interpretative Provision) Proclamation 2020
under section 8 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1994
1—Short title
This proclamation may be cited as the Administrative Arrangements (Interpretative Provision) Proclamation 2020.
2—Commencement
This proclamation comes into operation on the day on which it is made.
3—Interpretative provision
(1) A reference to the Chief Executive of the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure in an Act that is, on the effective date, committed to the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, or in a statutory instrument under such an Act or in any other kind of instrument, or a contract, agreement or other document, made or entered into before the effective date for the purposes of such an Act, will have effect as if it were a reference to the Chief Executive of the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.
(2) A reference to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure in an Act that is, on the effective date, committed to the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, or in a statutory instrument under such an Act or in any other kind of instrument, or a contract, agreement or other document, made or entered into before the effective date for the purposes of such an Act, will have effect as if it were a reference to the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.
(3) A reference to the Chief Executive of the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure in an Act that is, on the effective date, committed to the Minister for Planning and Local Government, or in a statutory instrument under such an Act or in any other kind of instrument, or a contract, agreement or other document, made or entered into before the effective date for the purposes of such an Act, will have effect as if it were a reference to the Chief Executive of the Attorney-General's Department.
, a reference to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure in an Act that is, on the effective date, committed to the Minister for Planning and Local Government, or in a statutory instrument under such an Act or in any other kind of instrument, or a contract, agreement or other document, made or entered into before the effective date for the purposes of such an Act, will have effect as if it were a reference to the Attorney-General's Department.
does not apply to a reference in an instrument of delegation where functions or powers are delegated to an officer or employee of the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.
(6) In this clause—
effective date means the date on which this proclamation comes into operation.
