Administrative Arrangements (References to
Ministers—DAIS Restructure) Proclamation 2006
under section 8 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1994
This proclamation may be cited as the Administrative Arrangements
(References to Ministers—DAIS Restructure)
Proclamation 2006.
This proclamation comes into operation on the day on which it is
made.
In this proclamation—
AGD means the Attorney-General's Department;
DAIS means the Department for Administrative and Information
Services;
DTEI means the Department for Transport, Energy and
Infrastructure;
effective date means the date on which this proclamation
comes into operation;
staff transfer date means 1 October 2006.
(1) A reference to the Minister for Administrative Services and Government
Enterprises in an Act or a statutory instrument under an Act will, if the Act
was on the day immediately before the effective date, committed to the
administration of that Minister, have effect as if it were a reference to the
Minister to whom the administration of the Act is for the time being
committed.
(2) A reference to the Minister for Administrative Services and Government
Enterprises in a statutory instrument or other kind of instrument, or a
contract, agreement or other document, made or entered into before the effective
date (other than a reference to which subclause (1) is applicable) relating
to functions or duties being carried out—
(a) by employees working in a part of DAIS listed in Schedule 1 before the
staff transfer date or by the same group of employees working in a part of DTEI
after the staff transfer date will, from the effective date, have effect as if
it were a reference to the Minister for Infrastructure; and
(b) by employees working in the Forensic Science Business Unit of DAIS
before the staff transfer date or by the same group of employees working in a
part of AGD after the staff transfer date will, from the effective date, have
effect as if it were a reference to the Attorney-General.
Schedule 1—Parts of DAIS
The employees of DAIS working, immediately before the effective date, in
the following parts of DAIS:
(a) Building Management Directorate;
(b) all Government ICT Services Business Units;
(c) Parliamentary Network Support Group;
(d) Land Services Business Unit;
(e) Commercial and Government Services Business Unit.
