Essential Services (Declaration of Period of Emergency) Proclamation 2016
under section 3 of the Essential Services Act 1981
1—Short title
This proclamation may be cited as the Essential Services (Declaration of Period of Emergency) Proclamation 2016.
2—Commencement
This proclamation comes into operation on the day on which it is made.
3—Declaration of period of emergency
In accordance with section 3 of the Essential Services Act 1981
—
(a) the period commencing on the day that this proclamation is made and extending for a period of 7 days is declared to be a period of emergency for the purposes of that Act; and
(b) the production, distribution and supply of electricity are declared to be essential services in respect of which the period of emergency applies.
Made by the Governor
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and being of the
opinion that circumstances have arisen, or are likely to arise, that have
caused, or are likely to cause, interruption or dislocation of essential
services in the State
on 29 September 2016
