34—Lease of land in retirement village
(1) The
administering authority of a retirement village may lease, or grant a licence
to occupy, land within the village that is not immediately required for the
purposes of the scheme.
(2) Unless the
Minister authorises a lease or licence for a longer term, the term of any such
lease or licence must not exceed 5 years.
(3) A person to whom a
lease or licence is granted under this section does not become a resident of
the retirement village.
(4) If a lease or
licence is granted contrary to this section the administering authority is
guilty of an offence.
Maximum penalty: $10 000.
