39—Power of Corporation to let meters etc
(1) The Corporation
may let for hire, to any consumer of water supplied under agreement, any meter
or instrument for measuring the quantity of water supplied and consumed, and
any pipes, fittings and apparatus for the conveyance, reception, or storage of
the water, for such remuneration in money and upon such terms as may be agreed
upon between the Corporation and the consumer, and all money due in respect of
such hiring shall be recoverable in the same manner as rates due to the
Corporation for water.
(2) The said meters,
instruments, pipes, fittings and apparatus shall not be attached, or taken in
execution under any process of any court of law, or under or in pursuance of
any order in insolvency, or other legal proceedings against or affecting the
consumer of the water or other person in whose possession the meters, pipes,
instruments, fittings or apparatus may be.
