(1) By leave of the Court or a judge, a person not named as a defendant in a writ for the recovery of land may enter an appearance on filing an affidavit showing that the person is in possession of the land, either personally or by tenant.(2) An appearance by a person as landlord only is to state that it is entered in that capacity.(3) A notice of appearance under subrule (1) is to be filed and served on each party to the action.(4) A person appearing is to be named as an additional defendant in all subsequent proceedings.(5) The Court or a judge may strike out or confine an appearance by a person not in possession, either personally or by tenant, of the land of which recovery is sought.
