(1) In an action in which a society is named as a defendant, a claim may be joined against a person who is a member or officer of the society in respect of any claim against the person, otherwise than as a member of the society, if the joinder is authorised by Division 12 of Part 7 .(2) If a claim is joined in accordance with subrule (1) , the action, so far as it concerns that claim, is to proceed as if the person against whom the claim is made were the only defendant to the action.
